MIKE VOIT, LEAD PASTOR

Mike and his family began their ministry at EWC in July 2016. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Mike met his wife Gena at Houghton College where they both received their undergraduate degrees in ministry. They were married in September 2007. Brooke, their beautiful and energetic daughter, came along in March 2011. Their son, Brayden, was born in May 2017. Rounding out the family are their dog, Teddy and Bethany Sparkles, their cat.

Mike and Gena have passionately committed themselves to sharing and embodying the overwhelming grace and love of God. Mike has served in ministry for fifteen years and received a Masters of Divinity graduate degree from Wesley Seminary. Gena earned a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling through Liberty University in 2013. Although Gena has served in several capacities in the Christian non-profit world; most notable was her service as the Director of Bridge Builders, a counseling and mentoring organization which served low-income, single parent families.

Mike very much enjoys joking, drinking coffee, sarcasm, reading, humor, fishing and watching every Buffalo Sports Team never live up to expectations. When Gena isn't telling Mike to stop crying about sports, she loves to bake, do anything arts and crafts and enjoy the deliciousness of chocolate. But all of this pales in comparison to being with and enjoying their daughter, Brooke and son, Brayden.

LEANNE MASON-DOUGHTY,

COMMUNITY LIFE DIRECTOR

Leanne was born and raised in the Springfield area, but has called Ellington home since 2008. Leanne has been married to her husband Jared since 2010 and they have two amazing daughters, Alice and Elouise. They are dedicated cheerleaders for the Ellington Football League and love it almost as much as Leanne loves being a cheer mom.

Their family came to EWC in December 2017 and were baptized here in June 2018. This was their church home from the moment they walked through the doors. After many years in secular recovery, Leanne and Jared were called to co-start and lead the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at EWC. They have been a part of the amazing leadership team since 2019. Leanne and Jared have been called to minister to those suffering from addiction and compulsive behaviors because they have personally experienced the healing power of a loving God.

Although they are busy, active parents, they seek to spend their time helping others. They attempt to live their lives in the service of others and would love to hear from anyone who needs to talk about the difficult things we all suffer with in life. Call anytime!

Leanne is also enrolled in Kingswood University as a ministerial student. She loves studying and discussing the Bible. As a total history nerd and ultimate word nerd, discovering the depth and power of Scripture has become a passion and she hopes someday to make it her vocation.
