Missions has always been at the core of who we at EWC are! From this congregation God has called numerous individuals and families who now serve as full time missionaries. At EWC we view missions from 4 perspectives: 1) The Congregational Mission: In this area we want to concentrate on building the EWC body of believers to become servant hearted and service minded. We do this through relevant teaching as well as through service opportunities from kindergarten through adulthood! 2) The Community Mission: This is where we first get to take on causes outside of ourselves. At this level we are involved with funding as well as extensive personal involvement within our local communities. Whether serving meals, performing community clean-up or providing Christmas for a family in need this is where we take on the call of God and become the "Body of Christ!" 3) The Regional Mission: At this level our hands are involved less and our finances are involved more. Through Regional Missions we serve others on a national level. Causes such as disaster relief, developing leaders on college campuses, orphan homes and planting churches are ways in which we can make an impact on our home shores. 4) The Global Missions: The Global Mission is our mission to the entire world. At this level we not only support members from EWC who serve abroad we also support Indigenous Missionaries serving among their specific people group. While Work and Witness trips are possible often times the location of these missions make going there very difficult and expensive. So the primary way we support Global Missions is financially. Of course the greatest way in which we at EWC support missions is through prayer! |
